Melissa has been in nursing for more than 20 years, with most of this time practicing as a Family Nurse Practitioner. She graduated from Baylor University with her BSN and then MSN, specializing in family practice. She and her family moved from Texas to Alaska in 2009 to join the team at SVT Health & Wellness, and have enjoyed making Homer home. Her passion is helping empower people to be self-advocates when it comes to their healthcare and to be active participants in their care.
